A number of Queensland massage parlours have been exposed to Covid as health authorities continue to investigate a mystery case. The case, a woman in her 50s, was active in Brisbane's northern suburbs, and Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young said she has no known links to existing cases or exposure sites. All of her household members have so far tested negative, and Dr Young said she had received both vaccination doses. A number of massage parlours were listed as close contact venues. It means anyone who visited them needs to get tested and self-isolate immediately for 14 days regardless of their result.
Dr Young said it is encouraging no other chains of transmission were identified by more than , tests over the past week. As well as the massage parlours, several other venues have also been listed as exposure sites, including Coles supermarkets in Chermside, Cannon Hill and Bracken Ridge.
